Chocolate-Peanut Butter Dip

by Irene Lindvall

Awhile back I accidentally bought vanilla yogurt instead of plain and the dip was not the same because of my error. Today I did the reverse and wonder how my mistake changed the flavor of this dip. In addition, mine did not turn out to be a creamy brown like the photo, but none the less, it still tasted good. I dipped a banana and strawberries in it. Quite tasty and is a delicious snack, and would make a great dessert as well.

Things I learned from this recipe:

Vanilla and plain yogurt are STILL not the same thing.

Salmon Sashimi Rice Bowl

by Irene Lindvall

My friend sent me a link to this recipe a couple weeks ago and it looked amazing. I have been thinking about it ever since and finally got around to making it today. It is similar to a recipe I've already shared - salmon (cooked) over rice - but this is raw salmon in addition to a poached egg. This dish is superb. There is really nothing else to say except - make it when you get a chance.

Things I learned from this recipe:

Rice + egg + raw salmon = delicious.

Would I make this recipe again?:

Scallion Cream Cheese

by Irene Lindvall

Hello! I'm back from a week of pizza eating and coffee drinking in NYC. We continued my birthday in NY, and in true birthday girl fashion, I was pouting at having to do a post tonight. I was not in the mood for grocery shopping but I had the idea for this recipe on the trip as a result of Eric ordering a bagel where scallion cream cheese was an option. It was quite delicious and I wondered why I had a never thought of it since I'm obsessed with green onions. The onions in Eric's bagel where not blended in but it still added to the overall taste.

Things I learned from this recipe:

Scallions mixed in is much better than just added on top.

Shrimp and Artichoke Linguine Alfredo

by Irene Lindvall

I have been making this dish for a couple of years and we both really love it. I really didn't want to make it on such a nice day and I've been putting it off for a few days, but it seemed I could wait no more. The kick of the chili flakes is what really makes this dish and has me coming back to it time and time again.

Things I learned from this recipe:

Full fat sour cream is really the way to go. I've used reduced fat in that past and it really doesn't thicken right.

Additional parsley is a must.

Would I make this recipe again?:

Definitely

Creamy Cucumber Dip

by Irene Lindvall

I will start by saying I took one bite of this and could not have another. I purchased vanilla bean yogurt thinking that would be plain enough and it wasn't. It made the dip sweet and really quite disgusting to eat with fresh veggies. I think all the ingredients could make it a really good dip, but I will have to report back another time on how it actually is.

Things I learned from this recipe:

Not all yogurts are the same...

Would I make this recipe again?:

Yes, to try and find out what it should taste like.
